--- Bulldogs dominate Birmingham-Southern Tournament ---
Oct. 29, 2006
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford women’s tennis team wrapped up its fall campaign with an outstanding performance in the Birmingham-Southern Tournament this weekend. Match play was delayed a day due to rain on Friday, but the Bulldogs enjoyed pleasant weather conditions Saturday and Sunday as they resumed play.
The Samford women defeated Belmont, 5-2, Saturday, and Birmingham-Southern, 4-0, Sunday.
“I am extremely pleased with our performance this weekend,” Samford head coach Terri Sisk said. “In my five years of coaching here at Samford, this is the best fall that we have had.
There were a lot of quality teams in this tournament,” said Sisk, “especially Belmont. That was an amazing win for us.”
The Bulldogs will kick off their spring campaign Feb. 24, as they travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia State.
