Cross Country To Run In UTC’s Front Runner Invitational


--- Bulldogs run in Chattanooga for second time this season ---

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford men’s and women’s cross country teams will head to Chattanooga to participate in the UTC Front Runner Invitational on Saturday. This is the second time this season that the Bulldogs have gone to Chattanooga to run.

The women are set to begin at 3:30 p.m., on a 2-mile course at Moccasin Bend. The men will start at 4 p.m., on a 5K course.

The men’s and women’s teams from Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, Fisk, Sewanee, and host Chattanooga will be competing along with the women’s teams from Georgia Southern, Tennessee State, and Montevallo.

The first time Samford hit the ground in Chattanooga was at the Chattanooga Opener, Sept. 8, where the women took second place and the men took fourth place. Freshman Angela Fister was the top runner for the women with a fourth place finish at 11:54 on the two mile course. The top runner for the men’s was sophomore Cameron Bean, finishing seventh with a time of 15:58 on the 5K course.
