Samford Tennis Competes In Birmingham-Southern Tournament

--- Bulldogs wrap up Fall competition with hometown play ---

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford University men’s and women’s tennis teams will travel across town to play in the Birmingham-Southern Tournament on Friday and Saturday. This will be the last competition for each Bulldog teams this fall.

The Samford women are coming off great weekend at the Memphis Lady Tiger Invitational where they went 20-7 in the tournament. Bulldog pair Emily White and Sarah McKey shared the doubles crown with teammates Whitnie Warren and Anna Jackson as they met each other in the finals of the doubles bracket. White and Warren also split the singles title as they met in the finals of their bracket.

The Samford men come into this week’s competition after two weeks of rest. The last time the Bulldog men were on the court was in the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational. Bulldog duo Jason Thomas and Bradley Weaver, as well as fellow Bulldog Hank Grant reached the semifinal round of their respective brackets. They were the only Bulldogs left standing after two days of intense competition. The Samford men hope to better that performance in this weekend’s tournament at Birmingham-Southern.
