Oct. 26, 2006
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford volleyball team will end its home stint Friday night as they play host to the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech. The Bulldogs hope to put an end their four-game losing streak.
Samford (6-19, 1-10 OVC) last met Tennessee Tech (8-14, 5-5 OVC) Sept. 30, in Cookeville, Tenn. The Bulldogs dropped the match, 1-3 (22-30, 30-22, 26-30, 18-30), to the Golden Eagles, giving them their fourth conference loss of the season. Samford hopes to turn things around Friday in front of a home crowd as it takes on Tennessee Tech.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 loss to Ohio Valley Conference leader Jacksonville State (17-4, 11-0 OVC) on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles come to Samford Friday off an upset win over OVC number two, Murray State.
Match play between the Bulldogs and the Golden Eagles will begin Friday at 7 p.m., in Seibert Hall.
