Volleyball To Take On Tennessee Tech

--- Bulldogs look to break three-match loss streak ---

Sept. 29, 2006

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford volleyball team will head to Cookeville, Tenn., to take on the Tennessee Tech tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs face the Golden Eagles in hopes of breaking the three-match skid they have been on since conference play opened up last week.

The last time the Bulldogs and the Golden Eagles met up was in Cookeville a little less than a year ago on Oct. 26, 2005. Samford took the match from TTU, 3-1, winning three games by at least seven points.

Tennessee Tech leads the series with Samford, winning six out of the last nine games. Samford looks to narrow that gap with a win tomorrow.

Both teams are pursuing their first conference win this weekend. So far in conference play the Bulldogs have lost to Austin Peay (2-3), Tennessee State (0-3), and Jacksonville State (0-3). The Golden Eagles are 0-2 in the conference, losing to Morehead State (1-3) and Eastern Kentucky (0-3).

Match play begins tomorrow, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m., in the Eblen Center on the campus of Tennessee Tech University.
